CLOWN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

Have you ever wanted to explore the world children's entertainment and try your hand at the best job in the world.... becoming a professional clown ? In today's growing world of unemployment clowns are in demand.

Shane Flannigan is a certified Laughter Therapist and the creator of  the characters "Soupy The Clown & Beep". Shane has personally studied under and or performed with many great Canadian entertainers including the world class magician & illusionist Danny zzzz who was recently featured on NBC TV and internationally recognized professional clown Grindl Kuchirka who has been featured for many years on the TV show The Big Comfy Couch.  Shane has also created & custom designed signature characters to entertain children for one of North America's largest family resorts.  Once these brand new characters were created Shane was personally asked to bring these new characters to life during regular performances at the resort.

His own clown character "Soupy The Clown" has entertained children from around the world and has been featured on national T.V. as well as radio and in many magazines and other publications.

Now you have the opportunity to apprentice personally under Canada's most popular children's clown and learn this industry inside and out from creating a clown character and signature look to designing a professional show & learning the business side of children's entertainment.

Each student will also have an opportunity for actual field work experience and perform professionally at venues under the guidance of Shane Flannigan personally during the duration of the course so that the student gains a better understanding of the role of a clown and attains a certain comfort level while performing in public.

Each student will also explore the creation of other children's characters as well as develop many new skills including Balloon Twisting and Face Painting to name a few.

This is a 4 month apprenticeship program held in the beautiful Niagara Region and lessons dates are customized to fit the student and instructor's schedule. Lesson times and dates will vary depending on curriculum subject matter and instructors regular performance schedule.

Please note you will be required to attend and perform professionally at a minimum number of events before graduating from this program.
